The idea for creating and selling cutting boards started before Joel was even out of high school. The opportunity to craft such detailed and beautiful cutting boards and trivets arose when a family friend gifted Joel a nearly complete collection of woodshop tools. With all the machines in place he ventured to start his first cutting board since school. It took him just a few days to cut, glue, sand, plane, and finish his first 10 boards. The first complete board sold the day after he created it. Joel is excited to create these amazing looking pieces of art for more people to enjoy.

You may have two things you're thinking:

1) "It's just a cutting board...come on!" - And to that I say, 'have you seen them?' Joel takes special care to design and layout the boards with all the desired wood and make sure to create the most appealing patterns he can. They are traditional yet modern - they will fit in with any decor.

2) "If it's so pretty, is it still functional?" - TOTALLY! The best part about these boards is that they are created using FDA-approved food safe glue. They are sealed with food-grade oils and will stand the test of time. As long as you are willing to do a little maintenance (re-oiling every several weeks) and a light wash with warm soapy water (instead of the dishwasher) you can expect your cutting board to last many years. Don't want to mar the surface because it's so darn nice looking? Just commit to using one side of the board only, then flip it over and hang the pretty side out when it's not in use!

I invite you to take a look at a few of the pictures included here and and peruse the collection. If you like what you see please email us and request more information or let us know you want one! Joel works on these each one by one so customizing the types of wood you'd like to see and the general pattern you want is pretty do-able. Now you are thinking cost - see, I'm good! Each board is $35, including tax.
